Ours is not the only threatened Green Belt area…
Our green and pleasant Hertfordshire has faced many development plans on Green Belt areas over the years. It is clear that when local people and communities come together, these battles can be won. But the war is not over.
See the call of sites maps published by St Albans District Council, many of these sites now have planning applications on them, prior to being assessed and released in the Local Plan process.
Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment | St Albans City and District Council
Thanks to Gary Broadbent for this little video which clearly shows how much land in St Albans is up for grabs. This coupled with the attacks on surrounding Green Belt land, provides a shocking reality check of what could easily become a concrete jungle instead of the historic city with beautiful green spaces, St Albans is famous for.

Keep Chiswell Green
“St Albans City and District Council has concluded that Green Belt land between Chiswell Green Lane and Forge End/Long Fallow is 'most suitable' for deregulation and the development of almost 400 homes.
That's a potential increase of 40% to the population of our village! Imagine the horrendous impact on our roads, schools, health care and environment.”
